Ahlan! Welcome!

Set up in 1994, the Bay Area Arabic School is a community based school that provides Arabic language instruction to children by teaching Arabic language literacy and conversation. The school’s purpose is to educate students about Arabic language, culture and heritage, to promote the spirit of friendship among the students and their families, to build a positive and supportive community of students and families, and to offer separate, optional Islamic Religion instruction.

We are a not-for-profit school and welcome community donations applied towards school expenses such as rent, teacher pay, classroom supplies, and financial aid to families who cannot afford to pay. Donations to BAAS are tax deductible.

First Day of School

Dear Families, we had a last-minute switch to ONLINE LEARNING due to a development in the Covid-19 virus and lack of availability of the GISSV campus for our use. This change has affected our enrollment and the staffing as well. To ensure the quality of teaching that has been our main focus, we need some time to work on all the coordination issues that arose from the last minute’s change. * Click here
